Overview of Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek
The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek combines the excitement of reaching Everest Base Camp with the comfort of premium accommodation and a scenic helicopter return to Kathmandu. The itinerary is well planned to enable Nepal Wanderlust Treks to offer its trekkers a chance to explore the Everest region in a more comfortable way and experience a personalized service during their voyage. Luxury lodges in the lower valleys, well planned acclimatization, and a helicopter flight from Gorak Shep to Kathmandu make this trek a comfortable way to explore the Himalayas.
Your trip starts with a helicopter flight between Kathmandu and Lukla and then the classic Everest path with Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche. We walk along traditional Sherpa villages, over suspension bridges, in the forests, alpine valleys and glacial landscapes on our way. Every day brings impressive views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many other Himalayan peaks while allowing enough time to adjust safely to the increasing altitude.
Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary visits Hotel Everest View, Khumjung Village, Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. These highlights combine Sherpa culture, mountain landscapes, and memorable mountain views in one well planned journey. Instead of walking back down the trail to Lukla, you will take a helicopter flight from Gorak Shep directly back to Kathmandu, saving several days of walking and providing breathtaking aerial views of the Everest region.

Helicopter Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m)
This morning we start our adventure with a beautiful helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The short flight offers beautiful aerial views of the Himalayas before landing at the gateway to the Everest region.
After meeting our porter team we will start a leisurely walk along the Dudh Koshi River. Passing small Sherpa villages, prayer wheels, and suspension bridges, we gradually reach Phakding, where we will spend our first night in the mountains.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,446 m)
The current trail runs along the Dudh Koshi River and over a few suspension bridges until we arrive at Monjo where our guide will handle the permit formalities at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park.
It then ascends steadily through forests to Namche Bazaar. When clear, we will have our first long distance sight of Mount Everest, and reach the colorful Sherpa town, the principal trading center of the Khumbu region.
Acclimatization Day. Visit Khumjung Village and Hotel Everest View (3,880 m)
Today is reserved for acclimatization to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. We will trek to Hotel Everest View, where we will enjoy excellent views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and several surrounding peaks, on a clear day.
After spending some time at the viewpoint we will trek to Khumjung Village to visit the local monastery and to experience Sherpa culture before returning to Namche Bazaar for another comfortable night.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860 m)
We leave Namche Bazaar and follow a scenic trail with beautiful mountain views before descending to the Dudh Koshi River. The trail, after crossing the river, gradually ascends through pine and rhododendron woods to Tengboche.
Our destination is the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Everest region. If time permits, we visit the monastery before enjoying the peaceful surroundings and the impressive views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Thamserku.
Trek between Tengboche and Dingboche (4,360 m)
After breakfast we descend through forest to Debuche before crossing the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge. The path leads to Pangboche Village and along the beautiful Imja Valley to Dingboche.
As we ascend the mountain, the forest-covered land is replaced by open alpine land with a great view of the Ama Dablam and other mountains. Dingboche is a peaceful village where we will spend the next two nights to allow proper acclimatization.
Acclimatization Day in Dingboche (4,360 m)
Another acclimatization day helps prepare us for the higher elevations ahead. We will make a slow walk to Nagarjun Hill or some other vantage point, where we will be able to make panoramic views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Island Peak.
You will have time to rest, savor the mountain environment, and get ready to travel to Everest Base Camp after spending time in Dingboche again.
Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910 m)
Today’s trail gradually climbs through alpine terrain before reaching Thukla, where we will take a short break. Then we proceed beyond the memorials of the climbers who died on Everest to Lobuche.
The surrounding scenery gets more impressive with glaciers, rocky landscapes and the Himalayan peaks. We will stay at Lobuche as we prepare to visit Everest Base Camp tomorrow.
Trek to Gorak Shep (5,160 m) and Visit Everest Base Camp (5,364 m)
After breakfast, we trek to Gorak Shep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. Following a short rest, we leave our larger bags at the lodge and continue across rocky glacial terrain to Everest Base Camp.
We spend some time at the base camp taking photographs and then we go back to Gorak Shep to stay. Reaching this famous destination is the highlight of the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary.
Hike to Kala Patthar (5,644 m) and Helicopter Flight to Kathmandu
Before sunrise, we will hike to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint for close views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. We will take a helicopter ride back to Kathmandu after visiting Gorak Shep.
The flight will provide a memorable aerial perspective of glaciers, valleys and snow covered mountains before landing Kathmandu. Upon arrival, check into your luxury hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing.
