Itinerary of Nagarkot Trek & Kathmandu Tour – 5 Days

01
Day 1: Welcome to Kathmandu

The flight into the Kathmandu Valley is breathtaking, offering views of the Himalaya and the terraced valley level. One of our employees will meet you when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and drive you to your accommodation.

You may have time to tour the city depending on your arrival time. One of the most well-known attractions is Kathmandu’s Durbar Square, with its tiny stores, historic temples, and neighborhood eateries. Swayambhunath Temple is another option, and from there you can watch the sun set over the valley and the Himalayas to the north.

You should eat your first meal in Thamel, a popular tourist destination, where there are many restaurants to choose from serving both Western and native Nepali cuisine. Then, if it is still possible, proceed to AsanTole, the busiest market in the city, where you can find a genuine collection of spice, seafood, and vegetable stands that make for fantastic photo opportunities. Chat with amiable people while practicing a few fundamental Nepali phrases.

Day 2: Kathmandu Cultural Tour: Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Patan Durbar Square

You will be picked up by an English-speaking tour guide after breakfast at your hotel for a full-day tour of the Kathmandu Valley, stopping at three holy sites: Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Patan Durbar Square.

Although there is a lot packed into this day, it doesn’t overburden you with sights, helping you to make the most of your time in Kathmandu. Since this is a private trip just for you, you can spend as much time as you like at each temple, but most visitors choose to stay for an hour. You’ll make a visit at one of the neighborhood eateries we suggest for lunch.

Stupa of Swayambhunath

This is the greatest location to see religious cooperation between Nepalese Buddhists and Hindus as well as the Kathmandu Valley below, located a few kilometers from the city center on a picturesque hill. One of the oldest shrines in this area of the world is the stupa, a Buddhist building in the form of a dome. The largest Buddha statue in the nation is located in Swayambhunath, along with prayer wheels and exquisite paintings on show in the monasteries.

Complex of Pashupatinath Temple

This is the holiest Hindu pilgrimage place in Nepal, and it has been visited by devotees for at least 1,500 years. It is situated on the banks of the Bagmatiriver. Visitors can walk around the Pashupati region and pass through statues of Brahma, the Creator, and Buddha dating from the eighth and sixth centuries, respectively. Wander past the stunning temples devoted to various deities in the complex that are guarded by skeletal statues.

Patan Durbar Square

Ancient texts and statues from the 14th century can be found at this lovely monastery and archaeological site. You will stop at the Oku Bahal, Bhimsen Temple, Terracotta Mahaboudha Temple, and Krishna Mandir while you are here.

Once you get back to your accommodation in Kathmandu in the late afternoon, meet your trekking guide and go through the specifics of your excursion for tomorrow.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Sankhu, Hike to Nagarkot (2,175 m)

After breakfast, a private car will pick you up and take you to the village of Sankhu in Kathmandu. This 1.5-hour trip enters a beautiful region of the Kathmandu Valley.

After that, you’ll meet your guide and begin your journey toward Nagarkot in the heart of Nepal. There are butterflies, floral plants, rainforest regions, people of all ages, and a lot of activity on this walk. The settlement of Nagarkot is located between Buddhist and Hindu cultural landmarks and is on the fringes of a valley with stunning mountain vistas.

For tourists and hikers, there are several cafes, restaurants, and comforts. Before going to bed, enjoy dinner in the city and take in the sunset.

Day 4: Sunrise from Nagarkot, Drive back to Kathmandu

Take a walk this morning in Nagarkot to the village tower for a dawn glimpse of the Himalaya. A variety of peaks, including Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, and Numbur, may be visible if the weather is clear. You’ll take a private transfer back to the capital city after breakfast.

Utilize whatever you might have overlooked at the start of the journey. Other options include rewarding your muscles with a massage at Seeing Hands (services are provided by the blind), or the more upscale Kinjalla Spa, following your hike. At Pranamaya Yoga, which has two sites in Thamel and Patan, you can also enroll in an early-evening yoga class.

Choose from a variety of Nepali, French, Vietnamese, and Middle Eastern dishes in Kathmandu in the evening.
