The monsoon period between June and August is characterized by regular rain and cloudy weather conditions and these can affect the trekking progress and flights in and out of Lukla.

Trek Difficulty

The Short Everest Base Camp Trek is considered a moderately challenging trek. Though it takes the traditional Everest path, the shorter itinerary implies that you walk more miles per day and fewer rest days. Walks are typically five to eight hours a day on rocky paths with some uphill and downhill parts.

Slow and steady, hydrate and listen to your guide will enable you to make the trip safe and have an enjoyable experience of the beautiful scenery of the Everest region.

Altitude and Acclimatization

The trained guides are very attentive to your welfare during the trek and give assistance when necessary. Proper preparation and careful pacing help reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

During the trek, you should bring your passport because permit checks are done at various checkpoints along the way. Permit fees are included if stated in your package.
