Overview of Everest View Trek
The Everest View Trek is a 5 days journey which can be a good option to those who would like to have the beauty of the Everest region within a very short period of time. This trek passes through the lower sections of the Everest region where one can enjoy a beautiful view of the mountain, traditional Sherpa villages and stay in cosy teahouses without having to trek to the very high altitudes. It is also most suitable for the travellers with limited time for travelling in Khumbu area but still want to enjoy the beauty of this area.
Your journey starts with a picturesque flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the entrance to the Everest region. In this trek we will follow the classic path up to Phakding and continue to Namche Bazaar, the lively centre of the Khumbu region. You will traverse suspension bridges, cross the river Dudh Koshi and pine and rhododendron forests. The trail enters Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where you can enjoy diverse wildlife and beautiful Himalayan scenery.
The highlight of the trip is Hotel Everest View and Khumjung Village. This is one of the most recognized spots in the Everest area to see an unobstructed view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and many other snow covered peaks after a short trek up hill. The other opportunity that will come up will be to visit the nearby monastery, Khumjung Village and experience the hospitality and culture of the Sherpa people.

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m / 8,563 ft)
Your Everest View Trek starts with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, which is one of the most scenic mountain flights in Nepal. The flight will offer you some beautiful sights of the Himalayan range before landing at the gateway to the Everest region. We will start walking to Phakding after meeting our trekking crew and complete the preparations.
The route passes along the Dudh Koshi River in the quiet woods and the traditional Sherpa villages. On our way, we will go over suspension bridges, prayer wheels, mani walls and colorful prayer flags that depict the local Buddhist culture. When we arrive at Phakding, we will rest at our teahouse and have a wonderful evening to the next day.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11,286 ft)
We will proceed with the trip after breakfast along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing some suspension bridges, and by small villages to Monjo, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park. We will take a trail through a forest with scenic mountain views and slowly head towards Namche Bazaar after formalities of the permit.
The last ascent to Namche is the most challenging aspect of the day, but it is rewarded by great scenery of the nearby mountains. On a clear day, we may catch our first view of Mount Everest before reaching Namche Bazaar. You will be able to visit the busy streets, local cafes, and shops in the mountain after you check into our teahouse.

Acclimatization Day, Visit Khumjung Village and Hotel Everest View (3,880 m / 12,730 ft)
The day will be spent on acclimatization to allow your body to get familiar with the elevated altitude as well as some of the most fantastic panoramas in the Everest area. After breakfast, we will hike to the famous Hotel Everest View, where spectacular views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and several other Himalayan peaks await.
We will leave the hotel and head to Khumjung Village which is a traditional Sherpa village with a monastery, stone houses and tranquil environment. Before we visit Namche Bazaar again, you will be able to have some time to explore the village and understand more about the local lifestyle. Such a brief ascent will enable you to ascend to altitude safely whilst experiencing the natural beauty and culture of the Khumbu region.

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla via Phakding (2,860 m / 9,383 ft)
After having breakfast, we will begin our walk down Namche Bazaar, retracing our steps through woods, suspension bridges and picturesque Sherpa villages. Going down the hill is typically less stressful and this will give you more time to appreciate the view and capture pictures on the way. After passing through Phakding we will go to Lukla.
We will come to Lukla and spend the last night in the mountains in our teahouse. This is the best moment to congratulate your successful completion of the 5 Days Everest View Trek, reflect on your experience with your guide and porter and the warm welcome of the village before returning to Kathmandu.

Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)
This morning, we will take an early flight back to Kathmandu. You will have a final aerial view of the Everest region before you go back to the capital, as the flight starts to leave the mountains behind. Your Himalayan adventure comes to an end with the short flight.
Upon reaching Kathmandu we will be able to transfer you to your hotel or Tribhuvan International Airport based on your traveling plans. We hope you leave Nepal with wonderful memories of the Everest View Trek and look forward to welcoming you again on another adventure with Nepal Wanderlust Treks.

Essential Information - Everest View Trek
Best Time for Everest View Trek
The best seasons of the Everest View Trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The weather in these months is normally predictable and the skies are clear with favorable temperatures that offer great sights of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and other Himalayan mountains.
Spring is also full of rhododendron forests and in autumn one can enjoy the fresh air and the excellent visibility after the monsoon. December through February are good seasons with fewer people on the trails and clear mountain views, but it is colder than other seasons. Monsoon season (June to August) is characterized by heavy rain and cloud, and it can impact flights in and out of Lukla.
Trek Difficulty
The Everest View Trek is an easy to moderate trek suitable for beginners and anyone with a reasonable level of fitness. The walks are typically three to seven hours daily over good mountain tracks with gentle uphills and downhills.
The trek does not go as high as the base camp of Everest but you will be walking over 3,000 meters, so it is useful to prepare. No climbing skills are needed. A slow and frequent rest will make you have fun throughout the walk as you enjoy the natural beauty and culture of the Everest area.
Altitude and Acclimatization
The top of the 5 Days Everest View Trek is Hotel Everest View with an elevation of 3,880 m (12,730 ft). While this altitude is lower than many Everest treks, your body still needs time to adjust to the thinner air. The itinerary also includes an acclimatization hike to Hotel Everest View and Khumjung Village before returning to Namche Bazaar for the night.
This will help your body get used to the altitude and provide you with the chance to enjoy some of the best mountain views in the region. Drinking plenty of water, walking at a steady pace and following your guide’s advice will help make your trek safe and comfortable.
Permits
The Everest View Trek Itinerary involves two obligatory permits, the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit. All trekkers who enter the Everest region need these permits, which contribute to conservation activities and development of local communities.
Our team will arrange both permits before the trek, so you do not need to complete any paperwork yourself. Please carry your passport during the journey, as permit checks are carried out at different points along the trail. Depending on what you have in your package, permit fees are included.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for the Short Everest View Trek. Your policy should cover high altitude trekking, emergency medical treatment and helicopter evacuation in the event of sickness or injury.
This trek is at a lower altitude than Everest Base Camp, however the weather conditions in the mountains can sometimes affect flights between Kathmandu and Lukla. It is therefore also advised to select insurance that covers flight delays, cancellations and trip interruption. Please ensure your policy covers all the activities listed in the itinerary before you leave.
